After having spent her childhood in the Far East, Fiona developed a passion for Oriental healing arts. She is an acupuncturist, initially trained at Westminster University and then did further training in acupuncture and tuina at Huaihua Medical College in China. She is a registered member of The British Acupuncture Council, The Acupuncture Fertility Network and has a special interest in women’s health, fertility issues and musculoskeletal problems. Acupuncture treatments are designed to address the underlying cause of disharmony and not just the symptoms of a condition. This means that the points selected and treatment plan will be different for each person, even if they are suffering from the same condition. This also has the beneficial effect of resolving seemingly unrelated symptoms.
On one of her many travels back to Asia, Fiona was introduced to Shiatsu in 1985 and has been a practitioner for over 20 years. She taught Shiatsu for many years at The European School of Shiatsu Therapy and Movement and has taught abroad, running workshops in France and Israel. Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing and uplifting form of bodywork that originated in Japan. Pressure is applied by the hands, fingers, arms, knees and feet to the energetic channels of the body, to rebalance the circulation of Qi. Stretches are used to release areas of tension and manipulations of the joints to bring an increased freedom of movement. A shiatsu treatment will provide you with a supportive space to let go of the tension in your mind and body, activate innate healing processes and revitalise your energy.
