Dreaming of a summer’s day immersed in the tranquility of wild-flower meadows and shady woodland spots? Then dream no further! Our summer weekend retreat in Sussex with Yoga and Pilates Queen Annie Nicoll Baines, is a rare opportunity to (re)treat within a ten acre wonderland, yet you don’t have to travel far to reach it. This magic location is only 25 minutes from Brighton and 1.5 hours from London!

The Yoga +Pilates weekend will include two daily practices; uplifting Yoga in the morning, followed by a Pilates into Yin conditioning and grounding practice in the evening, as well as a ‘deep dive’ workshop. Depending on the weather, the practice will take place in the beautifully converted yoga barn with bamboo flooring, or on the outside decking set to the soundtrack of nature. Annie is a much-loved, highly trained, and fun-to-hang-out-with teacher and retreat leader who will tailor the practices to your needs.
In between classes, you’ll have time to explore endless acres; two ponds and even your own woods, or just chill in the hammock and read a book before feasting on delicious, seasonal food to nourish and fuel you prepared by our professional chef.



OUR LOCATION
We will be staying at A Sussex House, a unique and welcoming home from home, a tranquil space in a stunning rural location. The modern eco pavilion and converted barn focus on sustainability, using reclaimed materials and ground source heat. Upstairs is where most of the en-suite bedrooms are, all with balconies overlooking the meadows.
Downstairs, is a huge open plan space with the kitchen at its heart, and glass fold back doors bringing the beauty of the outside inside. When the sun shines and the summer light floods in, there’s nothing finer.



YOUR TEACHER
Annie is obsessed with movement. Having danced her whole life and studied it professionally she has always been a keen mover. Moving to London and feeling a little lost amongst the wilderness she sought out a safe place to move, breathe and most of all connect back to herself. Annie fell in love with yoga, and it was not long before she realised her safe place was on the mat and off the stage. Annie is a qualified barre, pilates and yoga instructor and her belief is that all movement should evoke joy. It is not a punishment, although some of her classes are challenging it should leave you feeling more joyful, more full of life.
Annie very recently added to her qualifications with 130 hours of Mandala Vinyasa, 50 hours of rocket and 50 hours of yoga nidra. She is a total geek when it comes to yoga and is super excited to bring you all on a beautiful journey finding JOY all weekend.
Expect to be challenged in classes, but also have the JOY of slowing down and being nourished and held in deeply restorative sessions as well. Annie is super welcoming and will make your weekend a really nourishing and invigorating experience.

Rest / Explore / Read / Venture Out
6pm-7.30pm Evening Pilates into Yin Yoga Practice

Arrival on the first day will be from 4pm, departure on the last day will be at 11am. There will be unlimited serve-yourself teas, coffees, fruit and healthy snacks available all day.
ACCOMMODATION + RATES
Rooms in the house and barn are bright and comfortable, many with balconies and flooded with light. The setting is intimate with space for only 15 participants in shared twin rooms – most ensuite. One single room is available. There’s plenty of communal space to lounge around, relax, read & chat.

To secure your space please pay the non-refundable deposit of £150 or the full amount. We are also very happy to arrange payment plans for you, spreading the remaining balance (post deposit) across monthly payments. The full amount must be paid by 4th July.
