Arm Balances 101 with Richard Knight
Give your feet a break – use your hands. In this two-hour workshop, we will break down some of the arm balances you might encounter during a yoga class, along with some less familiar ones, such as the notorious one-legged crow, a few varieties of headstand and pincha mayurasana.
As well as a range of arm balances, we will explore different ways of getting into them (and out of them), and the poses you can do to build strength and flexibility on your journey upside down. There is no requirement to be able to do a crow pose or headstand, but you might be able to by the end of the workshop!
Richard’s classes interweave yoga philosophy with creative flows, and focus on the connection between mind and body. They will leave you smiling and energised, and reflecting on your practice beyond the mat. Drawing on the various heritages of Vinyasa Yoga, his teaching combines the discipline of Ashtanga with the creativity of Rocket.
Off the mat, Richard lives in South East London and works as a wedding celebrant. His weekends usually involve a combination of teaching and practicing yoga, and marrying people!
This workshop will take place at our Streatham Studio, 248a Streatham High Road, SW16 1HS.
