Beginners Yoga Workshop with Kate Lovell

£35 for 2.5hrs

Book now

This complete and casual 2.5 hour workshop has been designed to introduce newcomers to yoga to the fundamentals for developing a safe and fulfilling practice and to guide you on your way to a long and lasting yoga journey.
If you’ve been thinking about joining the studio, enrolling in regular classes or the next Beginners course (starting in October) but feel you would benefit from some guidance and foundational work first, then this is a great option for you.

The workshop will include practice (comfortable clothing is advised) and discussion. We’ll talk about the benefits of yoga, the different styles of yoga and take a closer look at what yoga actually is and can add to our lives. We’ll look at themes covered in the longer Beginners Course such as breathing techniques, postural alignment, key yoga postures, vinyasa flow sequences, meditation and the philosophy behind yoga. You’ll walk away with a better understanding of yoga and the direction you’d like to take your practice in (and hopefully lots of enthusiasm to make yoga part of your daily life).

About the Teacher: The course is led by Kate Lovell (www.thekateway.com), who has been teaching yoga since 2009 and teaching at Yogarise Covent Garden  since its opening in 2011 (she leads the Beginners Yoga Course every season). She believes yoga is an essential tool for true health and wellness in the body and mind. Kate’s style is playful and exploratory, energizing and fun. Her passion is in helping her students find pleasure and meaning in their practice so that yoga becomes not only an activity to exercise the body, but also a tool to reduce stress, quiet the mind and live a more balanced and fulfilling life. Her regular classes at Yogarise Covent Garden meet on Wednesday nights (hot flow and meditation) and Saturday mornings (hot flow).
