The Yogarise Community Book Club + Grub with Amy Dudgeon takes place on the last Wednesday of the month at Yogarise Cafe in Peckham.

If you love discovering new reads and hanging out with like-minded Yogarisers, our new Community Book Club is for you! You will even get to enjoy a hearty bowl of stew/soup from our friends at En Root in Peckham, complete with bread, all in the price of the ticket.

Your host, Amy, will guide you through the best new, and classic fiction. She will facilitate by initiating the discussion, and holding space for members to share their views, encouraging some lively debate.

Amy is a yoga teacher, spoken word poet and writer – who loves nothing more talking all things literature!

Our March pick is Fun Home by Alison Bechdel

A memoir in the form of a graphic novel by Alison Bechdel (you might know the Bechdel test – a measure for the representation of women in film). This book traces Alison’s youth growing up in rural America and struggling with family dynamics, sexuality and identity. The memoir also focuses on the role of art as a form of self-expression and self-discovery. If you’ve never read a comic or graphic novel this is a really good place to start!
