fire + moonlight; movement + music – a spring workshop with Bridget Woods-Kramer
£30 for 2 hours in studio / £20 for 2 hours online
Through mindful coordination of body and breath, we will remove stale energy held within our physical, mental and energetic subtle bodies; letting go of winter to create space to make offerings for spring and summer. Let us join together, whether in studio or with friends & family online, to practice yoga asana, pranayama, and meditation accompanied by live classical music.
Bridget will lead a mindful flow balancing the Agni + Soma to reflect, realise, and transform. Agni is the Sanskrit word for fire: it governs passion, transformation, the release of old stuck patterns. The cooling aspect of the practice is called Soma – moonlight. This is an introspective practice of reflection & acceptance. The balance of fire and nectar – complimentary opposites in our yoga practice is important. Without fire there is no transformation, without nectar & cooling practices, we will burnout. Through this Anusara practice, we will remove the stale energy held within our physical, mental and energetic subtle bodies.
Bridget Woods-Kramer is one of the most experienced and respected certified teachers within the Anusara community. Her classes, workshops and trainings are sought after, worldwide. She began her practice in 1975 and began teaching in 1988. She is a leading figure in the yoga community, having recently been voted one of the top 5 yoga teachers in London by the Evening Standard. She is known for her sense of humour, dynamic style of teaching and close attention to alignment detail.
The workshop will be held with the magical sounds of Elena Urioste, Tom Poster, and Sarah McMahon, classically trained musicians – not to mention Yogarise regulars!
Elena Urioste is a musician, yogi, writer, and entrepreneur. As a violinist, Elena has given acclaimed performances as soloist with major orchestras across the globe. She is the co-founder of Intermission a program that combines music, movement, and mindfulness.
Tom Poster is a musician whose skills and passions extend well beyond the conventional role of the concert pianist. Tom’s passion for bringing wonderful musicians together, and for creative and innovative programming, has led him to found the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective, an ensemble with a flexible line-up and an ardent commitment to diversity.
A passionate chamber musician, Sarah is a founding member of the Callino String Quartet. Aside from the Quartet, Sarah enjoys a busy career playing principal cello with the Academy of Ancient Music, Irish Baroque Orchestra, Ensemble Marsyas and Camerata Kilkenny.
