Releasing Lower Back Pain with Angie Brand
£25 for 90 mins
This workshop will help to give you the autonomy to relieve your own aches and pains. Pain is an age-old concern, and something that scientists have been trying to understand for years. Over the last few decades, pain specialists now know that pain is not simply a physical experience, but one that is influenced by stress levels and emotional states as well as tissue damage.
A staggering 43% of the population in the UK live with chronic pain, chronic pain being the leading cause of disability throughout England. Lower back pain is the most commonly experienced form of pain and can make the sufferer feel low, frustrated and helpless. And the experience can be debilitating. Luckily, with the help of movement and a little bit of science, lower back pain can be managed, if not cured, by implementing the right tools and learning more about the actual pain itself.
This workshop is designed to help you manage your back pain as and when it flares up, and will give you tools to carry with you throughout the rest of your life. In the workshop we will:
* Explore what pain is – your experience of pain and pain itself
* The neuroscience of pain – how the brain comes into the pain experience
* The nervous system – what it is and why it is important when it comes to pain
* Tips & tools – how to relieve pain symptoms using movement, stretches, massage, meditation and more
The first part of the workshop will be a deep dive into the all important ‘sciencey stuff’ , lasting around 30 minutes. We’ll then go into the tools to help relieve and stave off back pain through stretching and strengthening exercises, massage, breathwork and more.
You’ll receive a goody bag with some treats to take home with you to enable relaxation and calming of the nervous system. If you have experienced any stress or pain in your life, this workshop is designed for you!
Please note: this fab workshop needs a minimum of 8 bookings to run, so spread the word! Workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable unless cancelled by the studio, no exceptions. If you have any questions, email firstname.lastname@example.org
