The Practice of Release
Your freedom, a wholeness and contentment resides within.
Join Liz for a two-part series workshop that focuses on how daily release can help you to be in the present moment with calmness and openness.Releasing through the practice of breath, movement, and sitting creates space and openness to help navigate these new seasons of life, and the rest of the year.
Avidya in Sanskrit translates in our ability to connect with others and ourselves in the ground of being who we are. Our experiences in the here and the now – knowing how we can release what is no longer needed, and what cannot be controlled allows for meaningful presence with what we have.
Lizi is guiding simple practical meridian philosophy to take away and apply to your daily life and practice. The Five Elements of Life have been the compass to so many teachings and wisdom being passed on over centuries.
In Chinese Medicine and Meridian theory, the Elements of Life navigate a supportive way to navigate inner well being. Earth and Metal elements hold deep aspects on how we can Release and Surrender. Subtle practices of release benefit our digestion and respiratory system. Movement in Asana, breath work and Yin Yoga will embody the day.
This workshop navigates our own Earth (Stomach & Spleen) and the Metal (Lungs & Large Intestine) elements within our own bodies. These two elements symbolise the late summer (earth), which can also be seen as transitions and the autumn (metal). You will receive handouts to take home for self practice.
In the Water and Wood elements, Release and Surrender are navigated through breath work, Yin & Yang Asana and deepening or starting a sitting practice. The practice will be highlighted in using postures that support metabolism (Liver & Gallbladder) through Yang movements that also nourishes the circulatory system in our body. (Kidneys & Urinary Bladder) during the Winter months. These two elements symbolise the winter (water) and spring (wood), which can also bring clarity and understanding of the summer (fire), but more importantly how to navigate the Winter. Winter symbolises meditation, the way we retreat inwards to observe inner patterns and outer conditions in meditations is mirrored by winter as all of life draws inwards.
