Hailing from Peckham via Mexico City, Anna attended her first yoga class at primary school aged ten. Completely averse to competitive school sports, she kept returning to the mat throughout her teens. She took mindfulness training at Oxford and was nothing short of blown away by the profound impact the practice made on her ‘inner landscape’.
Later, restlessness in her arts career led to an extended period overseas where – in the Indian Himalayas – she undertook her first yoga teacher training. Back home, she has been teaching Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa yoga around South London since. Aside from her regular adult classes, she teaches children and teens in schools and works with a number of organisations supporting refugees, asylum seekers and victims of human atrocities.
In her classes, Anna will invite you to explore that sweet spot between effort and ease – unique for each individual – and to approach the practice as a means to cultivating compassionate self-awareness, on and off the mat.
She is ever-grateful to her teachers Sarah Jettoo, Mittra Rawat, Emily Brett and Bryony Duckitt.
