Yoga has been part of Toni’s life since the 1990’s, as a teacher and trainer she inspires a practice that heals, improves and integrates the processes and qualities of body and mind, both on and off the mat.
Toni first began to study and practice yoga as a way of combating the stresses of her burgeoning career in London as a commercial illustrator and interactive designer. Re-imagining her future and delving into her love of all things yoga, she retrained as a yoga teacher in 2005, under the 200hr program and tutelage of the Barkan Method in the U.S. This was only the start of a further 15 years dedicated to training and learning with notable teachers across various disciplines; Manju Jois, Sharon Gannon & David Life, Jyoti Manuel, Max Strom, Heather Elton, Heather Mason, Sarah Lo, Mark Freeth, among others.
In 2013 Toni qualified as a Yoga Therapist for mental health conditions after rigorous practical and academic training with The Minded Institute. Ever refining and evolving her understanding of the mind and her skills in the area of mental health Toni has successfully completed 4 years of training as an Integrative Counsellor and is currently studying a 2 year program of Buddhist Philosophy & Psychology.
As principal teacher she has trained hundreds of students to become yoga teachers themselves and continues to teach inspirational yoga classes, retreats, workshops and teacher training’s in the UK and abroad.
This year Toni is excited to be part of the Yogarise teaching faculty with her specialised module ‘Mind Your Yoga : Yoga for Mental Health + Resilience’.
