Michelle was initially drawn to yoga because she was looking for something to balance the demands of modern living and working in the city. Not knowing much about yoga Michelle stumbled across her first Iyengar yoga class over ten years ago. She remembers learning Tadasana (mountain pose) and was intrigued that just standing correctly was hard work – it required a focus on posture and on the whole body, but it also provided a sense of calm. Enticed by the physical benefits she quickly found that a regular practice developed a profound effect on her mindset and overall wellbeing. In 2015 she began teacher training at the Iyengar Institute in Maida Vale, London. She holds an introductory level 2 certificate and continues to develop her own practice by regularly attending workshops abroad and classes with senior Iyengar teachers. She also assists and teaches at the Iyengar Yoga Institute South London. Her teaching style is vibrant, warm with clear instruction, alignment and strength in mind. She believes that Iyengar yoga is accessible to all, her classes are suitable for beginners and general level yogis.
