Part anatomical information, part specific training exercises and part yoga practice, this workshop we will explore the movements in yoga that can aggravate the hamstrings, and imagery and modifications that can ease the strain. We will play with ways to build capacity, strength and balanced flexibility in the hamstrings to keep them happy.

When the whole spine works as one, it creates a sense of freedom in the body. In this workshop we won’t go “deeper” through straining the joints. We will look for the flow, the expansive quality of the poses. From there we will explore how far, or deep the body wants to go.

This workshop is part biomechanics, part conditioning, part movement play and part yoga, integrated with a thread of embodiment. Together this will help you learn the elements of handstands (and other inversions), and key practices to build up strength, stamina and balance.

While we all might want to be swept off our feet, this workshop will create a new sense of connection to the ground and balance over your feet. You will leave the workshop with a toolkit for your knees and feet for long term stability and health.
