Join us for an inspiring workshop in Yoga for writers – established and aspiring!

Perhaps you have always felt the urge to write but never found the time, or you didn’t know where to start. Perhaps you are already writing but find yourself stuck or looking for a boost of creativity, something to unlock your voice and get you back on track.

Let your subconscious creativity emerge in this yoga for writers workshop, where we will use Yoga to help you get you out of your own way, tap into your creative voice and get words on the page.

The session will start with a gentle 45min open level vinyasa sequence that will lead straight from savasana into a creative writing exercise. We will discuss the exercise with the option to share (or not), before delving deeper into the craft with two other writing exercises.

Come with as little as a notebook, pen and no ideas at all, or with something you are developing that could do with a little push; leave with a renewed confidence to write, some short scenes in your notebook and a lot of fresh tools and ideas to serve as a springboard into further writing.

This workshop will focus on writing fiction but all writers are welcome.

Ana Garcia Garnett is a writer / film maker and has written for both TV and film, from documentary to independent cinema. She is a graduate of the Faber Academy’s 6 month writing course (and many many other writing courses and festivals) and currently working on her latest novel.

Ana has been practicing and teaching yoga since 1999. She did her first teacher training in Sri Swami Satchidananda’s Ashram in the US, beginning with the practice of meditation before moving on to asana. She is interested in the power of the mind and the constant cross over between the writing and yoga practice, namely, getting out of your own way and tapping into energy and stories that are far greater than ourselves.

Please note: we require eight bookings to run this workshop.
